Super Saturdays Workshop and Showcase
with Heather Shoopman!

Multi award-winning tribal fusion artist, Heather Shoopman, comes to the IE and brings her urban bellydance style with her!

Now Serving:  Fun Combos for ALL! :: 12:30-2:30 pm

Add a little flavor to your ATS buffet with Heather Shoopman's hiphop inspired tribal fusion combos.
Each combo comes with a cue and is great for improvisational dance or choreographed routines. Exercises and drills will be incorporated to strengthen and condition the muscles and improve your layering skills. Be prepared to work it with Heather's drills, which she designed specifically to sprinkle your belly dance with some flavor!  Come be inspired!

Chakra Dance :: 3:00-5:00 pm

In the beginning dance was used for the purpose of worship and healing, a way to connect with spirit, your higher self and all of humanity.   Join Heather on an inner journey to promote spiritual awakening, mental clarity, physical stamina and emotional well-being.  You will experience meditation in motion with breathwork, guided trance dance techniques, and partner exercises in a safe environment.  You will leave feeling rejuvenated, inspired and loved!!!

An Intimate Weekend with Mardi Love!

We don't have to tell you that Mardi Love is an integral part of The Indigo and that her dance stylings influence todays hottest tribal bellydancers. For this workshop weekend, Mardi will be teaching two very special 3-hour classes that are limited to 20 students per class.

Saturday, December 6 Workshop:

“Twofer Workshop - Separation Anxiety: Isolation Patterns!”
Noon - 3pm :: $75 per student

Twofer - Part A
Goody, a bunch of drills that ask for a little concentration. Enjoy an afternoon of quirky patterns while keeping timely hips on the back burner. Indulge; it's good for you. Belly dance experience or a penchant for patting the head and rubbing the tummy recommended.

Providing a few new turns lovingly crafted by Mardi. A little something to slip into the slow pieces.

Sunday, December 7 Workshop:

“Quicker Combos and Zils”
Noon - 3pm :: $75 per student

Spend the better part of class picking up quicker combos to blend into your repertoire. Top ‘em off with bold customized percussive accents that will leave their ears bleeding. Bring zils.

Egyptian Raqs Sharki ~ Technique & Combos :: 12:30-2:30 pm

This workshop focuses on correct muscular work, posture, arms, layering technique, emphasis in movements and feeling for Egyptian Raqs Sharki. This workshop addresses DaVid of Scandinavia's annual combinations with new material every year.

Traditional Bhangra :: 3:00 - 5:00pm

This workshop focuses on correct muscular work, posture, arm work, leg work, shoulder work, emphasis in movements, grounding, stylization, feeling, speed, formations and the concepts for Traditional Bhangra.
